Bill Baldwin
Bill Baldwin, Ottawa, is a retired Anglican priest,
with experience working in Japan and in Cree territories (northern
Quebec). He is a member of Canadian Friends of SABEEL (SABEEL
is a Palestinian organisation that works for peace and justice
in the region) and is active in Nonviolent Peaceforce Canada.
Baldwin went to Palestine and Israel with a delegation organised
by Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) from 16 to 28 September. He
stated, "I am concerned about the violence in our world,
both the violence of oppression and the violence that arises from
the misdirected anger of the oppressed. At the same time I am
inspired by those who struggle to end cycles of violence, and
I want to support them in any way I can. My particular interest
in Palestine comes from people I know or have met who are involved
in the struggle, and also from a sense of how much we North Americans
are a part of the problem." Bill is available through baldwinWE@interactive.rogers.com.
